Dorm Cooking: Maple Syrup Lollipops

Last night, some of my friends decided to have a little cooking adventure. They decided to make lollipops with maple syrup that they had in their fridge and use some process that involves snow that I had never heard of. It was so much fun, despite the fact that we kind of made a mess (we cleaned it all up though, I promise!)

How the process works is that you boil the maple syrup and cook it down a little bit so it thickens up more, and then pour it in a line onto a bowl full of packed fresh snow. The snow cools the syrup and then you take a spoon and roll the gooey cooling syrup onto it, and voila! Maple syrup lollipops!

It's been cold, cold, cold!

Ice Skating

Last night, I went ice skating with Ally, Beret, Jen, and Torri and it was a lot of fun. All of us, except Torri who plays hockey, hadn't been skating in a long time and were a little shaky. I brought my camera along and put together a little video. I didn't get that much footage because the cold drained my camera battery extremely quickly.
